What is Dermalux?
Dermalux is a form of light therapy – also know as phototherapy. This means it delivers light to the skin in therapeutic doses to stimulate rejuvenation.
Dermalux uses LED (light-emitting diode) technology, at a variety of different wavelengths. The effects are clinically proven to treat a range of skin concerns, including reducing the signs of ageing, tackling uneven or excessive pigmentation, and helping to correct environmental damage. It also helps treat inflammatory conditions such as rosacea and acne, and psoriaris and dermatitis.
How does it work?
The LED phototherapy stimulates collagen production, destroys the bacteria that cause acne, reduces inflammation, and also increases hydration. This helps to improve the skin’s texture and clarity.
You may already be aware of some forms of light therapy. Newborn babies with jaundice are laid under a special lamp to help treat the condition, for example. Or you might have seen the special lamps used to help with seasonal affective disorder (SAD)? The health benefits of light therapy are many and varied!
Is Dermalux for me?
As well as being clinically proven, Dermalux is also a totally non-invasive treatment. It is pain free and safe for all skin types, and best of all: no downtime!
Dermalux can also be integrated with your other skin treatments to work in synergy. I can advise you on the best way to combine treatments for your skin’s needs.
What Dermalux treatment options are available?
There are four different Dermalux phototherapy options: LED Red Light, LED Blue Light, LED Near-Infrared Light and Combined Therapy.
LED Red Light stimulates collagen and elastin production, and is great for:
- Evening out skin tone and texture
- Increasing hydration
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
- Shrinking enlarged pores
- Restoring radiance
LED Blue Light works to reduce bacteria levels in the skin, so is effective at:
- Treating acne and blemishes (with no irritation)
- Preventing breakouts
- Normalising oil production
Near-Infrafred Light works in synergy with Red Light to optimize the results, and is fantastic for:
- Tightening and firming the skin
- Reducing pigmentation
- Reducing scarring
- Relieving pain and inflammation
Combined Therapy offers combined wavelength treatments so you can target multiple concerns in just one session.
